The Walter Meego remixes have been getting a trashing lately, just as they should be – all of the tracks are such great base material to work from.

Here are three very different, but all amazing, remixes. The phrase “something for everybody” comes to mind. And for me the Escort remix is definitely something for me. It appeals to me like that Canyons remix of Ladyhawkes “Dusk Till Dawn” in that it sounds like it’s come from a proggy jam band.

This Van She Tech remix is also something special and IMHO* a return to form for VST who have put out a lot of really bland tunes lately that haven’t evolved much since their early remixes (Muscles, Tiga etc). Some would call it the best VST remix since Gravity’s Rainbow…

I know New York is massive but considering that Walter Meego and Escort have some similarities in sound I am wondering if there is a deeper connection than this remix. Anyone?

Finally here are two remixes from Sydney lads Dept.. Up until now I’d never heard of these guys but if these tracks are anything to go by we should be hearing more soon.

The cool thing about this is that they’ve done two remixes themselves, taking two bites at that sweet, sweet cherry, and they’ve nailed both of them. The 6am remix would have to be my favourite.

Walter Meego’s debut release “Voyager is available now through Bandroom Records on beatport.com and the usual places, well worth a listen. You can pick up most of the other Meego remixes there too.
