As if in a single-handed attempt to undo the damage visited upon the world by Shaggy style ragga-gone-wrong hyper-sexed histrionics, the South Rakkas Crew have just dropped their new single ‘Mad Again’ and it is an absolute tearer. In addition to having the rave infused dancehall roller ‘Mad Again’ at its centre, the single also features remixes by Jokers of The Scene, Fake Blood, Boy 8-Bit, Drop the Lime and more (code for ‘no-one you’ve heard of’). There’s also an instrumental and an acapella so that everyone can get their mash-up on. The phrase holy flurking schnit leaps to mind… Doesn’t it?
The Boy 8-Bit remix has been getting some serious blog love over the past week, and rightly so. This bass-heavy monster is about as new rave as they come. In that it actually sounds like something out of the early 90s rave era. But with fewer e-tards hepped up on medic.

I’ve also thrown in the Fake Blood contribution to the release because, fucking hell, everything this man touches is gold. While perhaps he’s yet to release anything which rivals those genre-defining Black Ghosts and Armand van Helden remixes from last year, I gotta say, this comes pretty close. Chopped up vocals, thumping beats and those unmistakable Fake Blood basslines - it’s everything a fan could ask for.

Pick the single up from the iTunes Store now and help destroy a dancefloor this weekend. Please people, think of the dancefloors.
