“Proper” dance music was a term I used to use for things like techno, tech-house and minimal. It was just a way of labelling that little subset of the genre… it isn’t any better or more worthy than any other type of dance music… just a silly little name I had really.

Yea, pretty much! Example – I was talking to a big promoter in Bristol who puts on lots of huge huge names… he couldn’t name a single blog, and was pretty much unaware of what goes on in this corner of the internet. There is a lot of things that go on that the blog scene doesn’t really touch.

I found out about H.O.S.H by listening to a mix by Casper C… you can get a lot of great music by listening to other DJs mixes, reading their charts etc etc etc.

Matt, whay do u mean by “proper” dance music? i also what do you mean the blog community is a lot more isolated than ppl realize?

Blogs have lots and lots of fantastic music on them, and have helped change the way we interact with music for the better… but there is so, so, so much more out there.

Dude, it honestly sounds like you’re reading out my life story for the past year or two. I have also realised that there is a lot of crap on blogs too and that it is a fairly insular community at times. I still love it but the world of electronic music stretches far and wide, I’m only just starting to touch the sides. Sweet track btw
