Some people talk about first, second, third and fourth generation blogs. Seeing as Electrorash started in July 2007 we are probably along the lines of a third or fourth gen with someone like Stereogum or Pitchfork being amongst the first. Scatterblog would probably be in the second or third generation having started in 2006 – but definitely first generation Australian to be followed by the likes of Hyperbole, Waves At Night and Blouse.

Now the Scatterblog crew have kicked things up a notch and are now launching a record label, a bunch of parties and international touring into Australia.

Scatterblog Music’s first release, Real Music For Hustlers, is a limited edition compilation album featuring a whopping 20+ (mostly new and unreleased) tracks from members of The Scatterblog: Scattermish, Paz, Mu-Gen, Lewis Cancut, Mat Cant, Digital Manges and Slap & Dash.

The release will be launched at the next Scatterblog part this Saturday night in St Kilda with Brazilian Edu K headlining and supported by the artists featured on the release. 500 copies have been pressed and the physical release will only be available on the night as a free giveaway with entry. Some of the tracks will then become available through the Scatterblog and other members of Grindin over the coming months – as well as the next release!

Right now we’ve got one of the tracks off the release to give you an idea of the vibe of the blog, the label and the party from Paz.
