The delightful Raphael D’Hervez, better know as Valerie’s Pegase, has kindly decided to share with us his first ever remix, taking on Empire Of The Sun’s “Walking on a Dream,” presumably for all of its bright-eyed whimsy and laidback flair. The result is characteristically pretty, D’Hervez’s synthwork simultaneously skipping over the surface of the chorus while creating new melodies from beneath the vocal line. He’s also just completed a new demo, “Dream Awake,” which is my favourite original track of his so far. Featuring his Minitel Rose-lent vocals, it’s as close to those times you get stuck in one of those relentless conscious-yet-sleeping states as a song could get, only it doesn’t end with you finally waking up feeling like hell for the rest of the day.

Visit Pegase’s Myspace page and say hello, and go here for more original tracks.

He’s like our moody little blog pet. I’d pick him up and hug him if I wasn’t too scared of being clawed to death.
