Well it’s not long now till the official release of the long-long-LONG-awaited Crystal Castles debut full-length on March 18th. I suppose I don’t have to convince any of you that’s it’s going to be absolutely HUGE, and I have every hope in the world that 2008 will be the year of Ethan and Alice. And judging from the phenomenal job that endearingly mysterious duo have done with the album, ranging perfectly from the typically angsty and raw to the disarmingly pretty and soft, I don’t think I’ll even need to cross my fingers to help that wish come true. Seriously, one of the tracks, Tell Me What to Swallow, will absolutely rock your Crystal Castles preconceptions to their very core. If you don’t feel the need to buy a copy of the album in March you deserve to die in a house fire. Along with all your pets. Too strong…? Perhaps, but it would be nice if everyone spent a bit of money on Ethan and Alice. Their shit gets leaked on the net so often it’s a wonder they can afford to maintain those giant Air War icecream cones at all. I’d expect they’d need a fair bit of replenishing what with the constant melting and free distribution to strangers on the street and all.

Now in other news, after the recent success that was his amazing Air War remix, the lovely David Wolf is now working on another official Crystal Castles remix, the subject of which is the very sweet and bouncy track, Black Panther. So while we wait for that to surface, check out his latest remix, Stardust’s legendary The Music Sounds Better With You.

That David Wolf remix tweaks my knobs. Don’t know how you hear that track and go “yeah, I’m gonna make a hard-ass Boys Noize thing out of it” but who cares when that bass pad thing is that nasty…

I know, that bassline is fairly addictive.

    So what was thrash/thrash/thrash?

    I’m. So. Confused.

Thrash/Thrash/Thrash is a folder of mp3s a fan put up as the album but actually just demos from 2004. Did you really think CC would put “Rot” on their album twice?

I’m too confused to make such salient assessments, and yes the David Wolf remix isn’t very good

I just have to voice my good-for-absolutely-nothing opinion.

What happened to the “Alice Practice” thrash days of CC?

“Knights” & “Good Time” are slick tracks, but thats not the Castles I fell in love with…
