First track lifted from their upcoming album Further. High-speed-pursuit techno that’s slightly reminiscent of La Rock 01, but with signature Brotherly bleeps and blops.
For me, Chemical Brothers albums are all about that one mellow tune they sneak on each release. The one that resolutely proceeds to kung-pow your brainy bits in to beef jerky with pure synthetic sunshine- Surface to Air, The State We’re In, The Sunshine Underground – y’all know what I’m talking about.
Does this lead track feel like a throwback to any particular album?

this does sound pretty rad so far. and i’m off the sometimes stridently held opinion that ‘the sunshine underground’ is one of the single best pieces of electronic/dance music ever produced. sure their recent albums haven’t always been across the board up to scratch, but there’s always at least a few tracks in there that absolutely wipe the floor with pretty much everything else that is being put out. heart the chems.
This is the best Chems’ track I’ve heard in a long while. It feels a little like their earlier electronic innocence.
An I’m with both of you about the sunshine underground for sure.

Totally agree, I’m all for that one track that somehow manages to find its way into the middle/end of every Chems album.
update – You might have all heard that this album will only have something like 8 tracks on it, and that each will be accompanied by a short film…
keeps getting more and more interesting/worrying.
