This is great news for Midnight Juggernauts and independent labels.
When the Juggers started out they created their own label, Siberia Records, to produce all of their music and maintain commercial and creative control over their output. When the labels started to take notice they were competing for a slice of the distribution deal and couldn’t own the artists or the music itself.
This has turned out to be a very shrewd move for them as they have just signed a deal with EMI to distribute their music internationally – and finally crack some of those bigger overseas markets with more than illegal downloads. Up until now their debut album has only be distributed in Australia (through EMI Australia) while they cemented the international distribution deal.
This year the trio of Vincent, Andy and Stricker will be basing themselves in Europe while they tour their asses off. But never fear they will be back again and you can still catch them before they leave as they will be playing farewell shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

actually - the midnight juggernauts album is out in Australia on Siberia Records (their own label) and not on EMI. I just found this on another page that they apparently sent out today:
“..the overseas EMI deal is a licensing deal for their own label Siberia, and all the midnight juggernauts work is still produced and controlled by Siberia Records (Midnight Juggernauts) and released on this label, though distributed through the EMI network worldwide (outside of australia).
“because of this the band were able to get quite an amazing deal in regards to ownership, creative control and percentages which reflect and maintain the ”indie” nature of their approach along the way.
“Basically the band are just happy that they won’t have to compromise their path but will now get their music across to a larger audience overseas.”
NONONONONONONONONO!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!!!! M83?!?!?!?! EAST COAST ONLY?!!?!?!?! DON’T DO THIS TO ME YOU BASTARDS!!!!!
i really like m83 hey. i may, or may not, have a pretty huge tattoo across my shoulders based on their tune ‘run into flowers’. seeing them = kinda important…
Poor Luke. If it’s any consolation, I’m not too happy about the Enmore. Floor division whores.
@anon [drogs]
thanks for the quotes, but that’s what Nek said: international distribution deal through EMI whilst staying on Siberia.
good luck to em, doing well.
yes, that floor division really will cut you to your core as YOU WATCH THEM PERFORM… and i’m done. your sympathy is appreciated.
stupid cancer. hate it so much.
yeah man I am hating on Wilhelm too.
Anon you are an idiot. In Australia (as with overseas) Midnight Juggernauts record and produce stuff through Siberia Records and so have total artistic control. But in Australia ( and now overseas) EMI controls distribution.
i haven’t checked out M83 yet at all. But looking forward to these shows for sure
it’s a kinda weird combo; m83 is pretty all over the place, nothing too reliably propulsive. would have thought they’d suit headlining in their own right, but then again, i seem to be the only person i know who has ever heard of them…
‘dead cities, red seas and lost ghosts’ is an absolutely amazing album though. the kind of cd best listened to very loud on a good set of headphones. i would recommend it to all my friends.
This might be a massive cliche, but my favourite m83 track is Coloring the Void. I could listen to it for hours. Car Chase Terror, on the other hand, makes me want to die. Not really sure what happened there…
