Darren Cross AKA The E.L.F. dropped this in our inbox over the weekend, if you don’t know his story i think you must have been hiding under a rock for the past 10 or so years!  But here it is for all your rock dwellers, ex-one third of seminal Australian indie-electronic pioneers Gerling.  Darren has been discovering his own sound under the monicker of The E.L.F. since the permanent hiatus of the group a few years ago.

‘Rave Cave’ is a full frontal assault on my ears, it leads off with a summer of love-esque riff but things take a sudden turn when a synth stab is introduced from beyond the crypt.  This is in your face, down in the cave club, should have gone home an hour ago music.  Best enjoyed with a side order of anything you can manage to not spill down your shirt as your run/dance around like a madman.

Go buy his new EP ‘Sunray in the Rave Cave’ on Itunes right now, look out for my personal faveorite ‘You cant fire me’.
