Without the second line-up announcement for Splendour having happened yet, I’d say the line-ups for Lollapalooza and Splendour in the Grass (August 1-3 and August 2-3 respectively) this year are probably going to be pretty much equal. But hey Chicago, how about we trade you Pnau for DIOYY or Bloc Party, and Wolfmother for The Raconteurs. We’ve seen Pnau and Wolfmother so many times before, I think it’s only fair. (This rule doesn’t apply to The Presets though. We’re keeping them. But you can have Scribe for free if you want.)
Tickets go on sale for Splendour tomorrow morning here. Lollapalooza tickets seem to be selling quietly and steadily, so it looks like you guys don’t have to deal with the site-melting SHITFEST that is online Australian festival ticket purchasing. We’ll all have to arm ourselves with an alarm set for 8:59 am sharp, a robust internet connection (count mine out… Unwired, you’re on my blacklist!!), and perhaps the friendly will of God/The Fates. Someone hilarious whose birthday it was yesterday once said “Kele is such a dude man. I mean he has a severe stutter and everything and he’s never let it get in his way… He’s kind of disabled I guess… with the stutter… and being gay and all… and black!”
