Well you were promised more Shinichi Osawa, and more Shinichi Osawa you shall have…
Today, Kap10kurt (aka Switzerland-born, New York-based producer Kurt Uenala (aka K10K), teamed up with the super-cute Leah Shapiro) will be releasing their long-awaited 12” picture disc, Dangerseekers, on Plantmusic Records. It features said track, as well as an awesome line-up of remixes from Tepr, Rolf Honey, and Shinichi Osawa, and oh yes, they are all extremely rad.
So ok, I can’t remember where, but I read somewhere that Kap10kurt is New York’s answer to French undead car crash victim, Kavinsky. And yet, Uenala has been producing for about the same amount of time as him… So does that mean I’ll read somewhere else that Kavinsky is the French answer to Kap10kurt? Probably not, seeing as the exposure levels are a tad uneven, but suffice to say Kap10kurt has been doing his ‘80’s-influenced electro-house thing for a long time and he’s pretty much phenomenal at it. Check out the remix of Kingdom he did for Dave Gahan back in September here.
I was going to finish this off with a lame pun referencing the whole ‘captain’ thing, but opted out on account of it being far too lame (and unfortunately not even endearingly so) for me to live down. So there will be no clever end to this post… Sorry.

I wonder if it is a prerequisite that you die in a car crash and come back as something cool to be a great French electro artist.
