Now, i’ll be the first to admit I don’t quite ‘get’ HURTS. I see what they’re trying to do, I just don’t know if I like it that much. Wonderful Life makes me think of George Michael for some reason. That’s not a bad thing necessarily, Kitsune and Sony obviously don’t think so either… Hurts is being packaged as this year’s must have hip electro-pop bros – but it’s SO throwback, and SO hip and SO earnest it kind of makes my brain-stem itch.
But, what would I know. I’m just a bro with a badly designed blog.
Hurts are playing Summersonic in Japan this year… Australian stopover around late August/October perhaps? Maybe i’ll hold any definitive judgments until then.
