This new track from the finalist of Australia’s last season of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ hits the airwaves today. His name is Rhys, the song is called Hot Summer, and I apologise in advancing for upsetting everybody when you hear it every single day as the music synch to Channel 10′s national summer promo campaign.

It’s a cover of a German pop track by Monrose, but it’s been dirtified by Sydney’s Van She Tech production team. Word is they’ll be producing most of Rhys’ upcoming album too which is kinda sexy.

There’s a few blog friendly remixes here and there, including one from Mr Blake of Hundred’s and Thousands/Electrorash fame and a dirty, fidget pounder from Trumpdisco and a bass-bin demolishing remix from Mr Scattermish of the world famous scatterblog… head over there to get an exclusive dub mix he’s created for the project.

You’ll be able to pick up the Aston Shuffle remix of Hot Summer on Ministry of Sound’s Clubber’s Guide to 2009, dropping after x-mas.

It’s going to be a hot summer indeedy. You know you love it.

Pretty solid track, as are the remixes. I was quite a huge fan of the original Monrose version (which is only a year old) and still do think it’s the better of the two, but I’m just really pleased this incredibly poppy track will have an audience outside of Germany/Popjustice readers ears.

I like these rumours about VST doing the whole album; surely it will open up a number of doors for the guys as producers for other artists in the pop world.

I can only begin to imagine how extravagant the video is going to be.
