hey today!

For those of you who still appreciate a nice “banger” or two, (thank god disco is taking over this year, because it hurts me every time I have to say “banger”) you just might enjoy recent signee to the ubiquitous Kitsuné, the ever-exclamatory Hey Today!. They’ve made their way quietly onto the electro radar with their recent debut single, Walk Through, and are set to appear on the Pogo Remix EP of fellow Germans, Digitalism, (out 5th of May) sharing the limelight with the likes of Shinichi Osawa, CSS and The Horrors. (You can pick up the Horrors remix at Fluo Kids. I was kinda disappointed with it though.) If their stuff sounds slightly familiar, it could be because they used to be known as Trashtalk (as far as I can tell), whom our dear Luke wrote about way back when. If you are unfamiliar with Trashtalk, however, think of Hey Today! as the abstract, musical expression of that time my friend let a dog lick his eye and got conjunctivitis and/or pink-eye from it. Oh yes, Hey Today! are pretty fucking dirty. Hang on to this before disco takes a well-deserved front seat in 2008.

bangers are dead. Lets hope Justice pull a ‘discovery’ on us. Forgot to comment a while back but how good is the new Animal Collective EP?

Would it be insensitive of me to post a Def Leppard track as my “get well Luke” post?

Oh I know, JD. Animal Collective can surely do no wrong.

Hey Ned, I hear you and that insensitive face of yours are going straight to hell…
