Ghostwood
When Ghostwood got signed to Modular I wondered about the direction the indie/electro label was trying to go in. They started with Ben Lee and at the time their most recent signing was Van She from memory and Ghostwood didn’t really fit the mould.
But the band have held on and I am personally glad that they did. Their self titled EP came out in the states mid January this year after a couple of months delay in transmission from Australia and it has broken some ground in bringing this Sydney based four piece to the masses.
Most recently they supported Jesus & Mary Chain on their Australian side shows for the V Festival which is a fairly big gig.
Now the guys are hitting the road to play a couple of headline spots at the East Brunswick Club tomorrow night (with Yves Klein Blue) and then the Annandale in Sydney next Thursday the 8th of May.
I heartily recommend checking out either of these shows.
[update: We also have tickets to giveaway to the Melbourne gig!]
All you need to do is email me your answer to the following question: “One of the members of Ghostwood goes by a single name. What is it and what does he do in the band?” note: check their myspace.
Winner will be decided on whoever gets their answer to me the earliest. ned@electrorash.com
