Femme Fatales are a new electronic indie band out of South Australia who are on their way to Sydney and Melbourne for a bunch of shows in the next couple of weeks.
I found these guys on myspace back in August I think and they are moving very fast: since their inception in June they have had a change of lineup, recorded an unreleased E.P. and now an interstate mini tour
According to frontman Tom Hanna the group started when he wrote and recorded some tracks, hastily organised a band and started jamming out.
“We were mostly a guitar based band when we played our first gig on july the 17th. After two more shows with this current line up we decided things we’re working and parted ways with the drummer and bassist. This was early August. A couple of weeks later we found drummer Mitch Van and after a few practice sessions we headed into the studio to record a demo cd.”
“After coming out of the studio in the first week of September we played our first show with the new line up friday night the 7th at Rocket Bar in Adelaide supporting teenagersintokyo and cut off your hands.”
Fuck off!
Describing their sound as indie/electro but their influences have pushed them more towards the “later 90′s rave/house sounds of the chemical brothers and daft punk rather than the 80′s electro sounds” combined with the “mid 90′s indie sounds of blur and pavement”.
Who hasn’t been influenced by Daft Punk?
Shut up Peter Gabriel.
Enjoy the tracks, let them know what you think, let me know what you think.

[update: Just saw these guys live for the first time and it was really good. These recordings do not do their live performance justice at all - looking forward to the next release.]
