1928 exclusively brought us his remix of Rihanna’s “Umbrella” (also featured here and here) and now he brings us his next remix from Adelaide newcomers Femme Fatales.
I posted about the original version of My Intention a little while back which I thought was one of the highlight tracks of their recorded material (live it was even better)
This remix strips the track bare leaving us with a chopped up vocal. Then layer on some vocals-as-percussion and a crunchy synth bass-line and you are ready to rumble. Leave in the oven for 5 minutes and you have yourself a tasty treat (and a very mixed metaphor).
It’s an interesting choice of track to choose for Melbourne based 1928 after the massive Rihanna track. It also a step into something a little less mainstream. It isn’t likely to see any radio play but it is likely to see its way into many summer mix tapes.
Femme Fatales are currently in the studio recording some new material for a forthcoming E.P. They will be playing some of this new material in Melbourne on the 13th and 15th of December as well as a very special show in Adelaide on the 28th with 1928 DJing in support. Why don’t you guys just get married already?
