There is such a thing as bro-step, and it is not ideal, particularly if your a ramadan-kinda-man who prefers a hard-panning cumbia or Cornish samble wind with their breakbeats.

But Logistics, channeling the euphoric best of acts like High Contrast and Joker, has delivered a thoroughly feel-good mix right here. I’ll admit i’ve been struggling to rend it from my on-da-go playlist.

At risk of gushing, a remix hasn’t been flogged on my iPod this year since I first heard that Canyons dub of Tortoiseshell.

From Adelaide, home of twitterlebrities such The Swiss, Joel Amos and Louis Schofield come electronic duo Mammoth Logic.

They’ve got a new jam out, it’s called (ME) and Richard Kingsmill seems to like it. I’m not convinced, but it’s always great to hear new sounds from our fair South Australian buddies. There’s some strong vocal work and, at it’s heart, some interesting songwriting – but the production isn’t quite there. The snare drum is crunchier than a bag of Ruffles underfoot. Which is no place for a delicious bag of Ruffles to be.

Sydney electro-trippers Idea Idea have made a spectacular clip for their new single Set Sail. Featuring the always devine Lanie Lane and a range of vintage keys on the bottom of a pool, it’s a pretty spectacular affair for such a new band, and, based on what I’ve seen, just a hint of the wildness we can expect from their live show in future.

Plus it’s a hella catchy track to boot.

Twitter this morning alerted me to a couple brand spankin’ Van She Tech remixes. The guys took some time out from recording what one can assume is a new album to make these booties in preparation for their upcoming Splendour In The Grass Dj set (which i’ll no doubt hear all about come Monday…)

I have it on very good authority from a friend of a friend who works for a friend who once picked up my friend’s cousin that the lords of electro, Justice, are 100% confirmed to play Field Day (and therefore Summadayze) in Australia this New Year’s. Pen is on paper apparently.

I could go ‘oh, my, fucking Justice are just a pair of nice leather jackets with garageband – eff that’
BUT
Genesis is still a sick song. And any band that can back that up with Phantom Part Two are likely to have a couple corkers up there soft, supple sleeves.

Anyone else excited to hear how JUSTICE in a post-banger economy might sound?

Castratii have emerged from the mysterious misty mists of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. I don’t really know much about them – apparently they all play in a few bands around town and have recorded as Castratii for about a year. They’ve got a blog, but that doesn’t tell you much either.

At any rate their new EP, the ‘Telling of Bees’ is out now on Speak n Spell/Inertia.

Unnervingly beautiful. Imagine if Anthony Gonzalez grew up on Nine Inch Nails rather than Duran Duran.
