Faux Fox vs Neon Coyote

As much as I love this remix, I think the most exciting part of posting it was the opportunity to search for images of foxes and coyotes, particularly ones with the both of them hanging out in the snow together, you know, being all pointy-eared and Canidae. The above picture is of course lovely, but probably would have been slightly more so had that bird not ruined it by being neither fox nor coyote, nor any other dog-like creature for that matter. If that fox wasn’t trying to blink all the snow out of its eyes it would surely be gnawing both its wings off by now, because let’s face it, it’s just not high enough up to be safe. Idiot.

And then I came across the one below, which made me choke on my lemonade and sent my cat bolting for the sunroom:

I mean, Coyote, Foxes: you’re dead now, there’s no need to be in the snow, making noises. Put down the chipmunk and come inside, you won’t be growing any more fur any time soon, so you probably shouldn’t be out there getting it wet. And besides, it’s not about you anymore, it’s about the former billionaire who had you stuffed and mounted and set up in the old Vermont lodge he forgot he owned until he was forced to live in it because his ex-wife took his actual home in the divorce proceedings prompted by her discovery of him trying to have sex with a hamster when she came home early from her Rodents Can Be Pets Too book launch. The sheer irony alone lost him his four helicopters. Idiot.

Anyway, on to the remix. Texan band, Faux Fox, have been remixed by Neon Coyote, (who lately seem to have been a little less prolific with their remixing than normal) in the wake of their latest album release, All That Remains, via Melbourne label, Exo Records. In Dirt City Rollers, Neon Coyote take Faux Fox’s glam rock tendencies and render them increasingly shimmery and bouncy as the track plays out. Visit Exo Records’ Myspace page now to pick up a copy of the album.
