Since i haven’t posted for quite some time, i thought i better have something well worth the wait,(not that you were waiting for me to post or anything.)

Desmond and The Tutu’s are one hot little act indeed. Besides having one of the best band names i have ever heard, they also fuse contemporary native African melodies with fast paced rock andĀ  harmonica for good measure. I visited South Africa a few years ago and was lucky enough to experience someĀ  of these fine sounds emanating from small villages, busking boys and South African radio. The sound is both happy uplifting and dancy as hell. They are signed to Mr Joakim’s(check out waves at night for a great post on him) label tigersushi which has just released: kiss-you-on-the-cheek by the Tutu’s.

But my favourite track from the album is most definitely this, Desmond and The Tutu’s,pictures

there is also a very comical videoclip for pictures found here: youtube. com/desmondandthetutus

Their first album is entitled TUCKSHOP and was released through their own label AWESOME LAND RECORDS show them some support when it hits the curb and buy it. Until then you can purchase “kiss you on the cheek” from beatport, it comes with a nice little remix also.

ENJOY

I’m from South Africa you see, and do appreciate your kind words on my country!
