David Wolf Revisited

I love burgeoning California-based DJ/producer, David Wolf’s stuff so much that when one of my friends is describing an awesome new remix he discovered on some blog to me, his typical opener is: “It’s like a David Wolf track, only…” Yeah, he’s so rad, he’s somehow managed to establish himself as an integral part of my regular vocabulary.

I’ve been sitting on a few of his recent tracks (posted on his Myspace page ) for a while now, but his newest one has gotten me so excited that it had to be posted. (I was also a bit tired of trying to explain how great it is to people who have no idea what I’m talking about: “How fucking awesome is… oh. Nevermind.”) Genisishhh is a mash-up of that Justice track and Wait by the Ying Yang twins. But before you all start hacking your own ears off with a rusty fork and then head screaming for the hills, (yes, I hate mashups too) have a listen. The sex is so palpable in that track it’ll leave you feeling breathless and/or like you need a really good shower. Either way, you need to get on this.

And then for a complete change of pace, check out his remix of the exceptionally pretty Kusikia’s Innocu, and Liars’ I Was Fit When I Was A Kid. With the latter being my most favouritist band in the whole world and also a band that very seldom gets the remix treatment, Wolf’s remix warrants attention. And the fact that he is playing a show with the mighty HEALTH at the end of the month (check his page for details) suggests that from here on in his whole operation warrants our attention.

David Wolf - Genisishhh

Kusikia - Innocu (David Wolf Remix)

Liars - I Was Fit When I Was A Kid (David Wolf Remix)

Go here for more David Wolf stuff we posted earlier.

Stay tuned for his official remix of Crystal Castles’ Air War… Or you could stay ahead of the masses by picking up a copy of the 7″ here, which not only features Wolf’s fantastic remix, but also an improved/extended version of the original.

Bonus - Chromeo - Bonafied Lovin’ (David Wolf Remix)

hahaha Love it. Was just thinking that I haven’t seen a decent definitive post about David Wolf despite his massive appetite for remixing.

Where did you get the sweet artwork? In my dreams the deer is the internet

I think his friend did the artwork for him…?

hehe it must be hard to think back to when the internet was your friend, not your mortal enemy.
