Months ago an Evanston IL resident named Emily uploaded a video of herself performing a dance to Jonathan Coulton’s song Code Monkey which received a huge response on YouTube. The track blew up a little as a result.
Whilst on tour in Chicago, Jonothan asked the crowd whether the young lady was present and invited her on stage to reenact her jig live to the audience as Jon and his two backup singers, Paul and Storm, accompanied. The result is this real-life internet crossover that only, recently, Tay Zonday could pull off.
Let’s hope this catches on and launches the careers of more interpretive dancers online and on tours. I do a great version of Minor Threat’s Straight Edge. Thanks Roost for the link.
