Rodeoclash are a Melbourne-based “electro country” 3 piece. A new genre that actually works quite well.

They’ve just released an EP which you can listen to their their Youtube page, my highlight was Living In A Hotel. It’s like a lo-fi remix of the soundtrack to an imaginary western.

The rest are dark, spacious and sloooow.

John Talabot’s album “ƒin” has been getting an absolute thrashing since I got my hands on it a little over a week ago. I’ll also be seeing him at Laneway on Saturday. But there is no such thing as too much Talabot so I’ll be at this on Friday night.

Take Record & Release. The guys at VICE are dropping a recording studio in Racing Club Lane, with Parking Lot Experiments, Absolute Boys, Electric Smile Band, //ThisThing// Collective (and a special guest on Friday) coming down over the week to lay tracks live to tape.

Each of their recording sessions are going to end up as 250 free, limited edition cds, having been mixed, mastered, pressed over a 24hr period by Mr Jack Farley from Transient Studios. The cds, designed by Tin&Ed, WEBUYYOURKIDS, Leif Podhajsky and Oslo Davis, will be launched each night at the Buffalo Club which will be sprawling outside into the laneway – serving cut price beer and dj sets from VICE peoples, the bands themselves, and Triple R icons.

So get on down and see the bands get their record on, then mooch over to Buffalo Club to grab a cd, a drink, and some party vibes. Monday 21 – Friday 25 Nov.

Broken Hearted is the second video in the Gold on Gold video collaboration series between the hypertalented Alex Goddard and the super-hawt right now Aussies Clubfeet

It’s a bit wanky, what with the grainy filters and pouty models getting their babylons out for zero reason whatsoever, but fun all the same. And oooeeeee, the track really winds up into something quite special towards the end.
