Which was probably obvious enough after the previous post. But the new M83 (a.k.a Anthony Gonzalez) album 'Saturdays = Youth' has just been released, and it's fucking gorgeous. By far Gonzalez's most accessible LP to date, 'Saturdays' feels like the logical end point to this stream of 80s revivalism. That's a command, not a competition. In one of the more incongruous pieces of festival programming I've seen in a while, Dan Deacon was booked to follow Feist in her Perth show last night. While Feist was reasonably mediocre (gorgeous voice notwithstanding), it was Deacon who stole the show, playing what could quite possibly be the best 45 minute music experience of my life.
