Boys Noize

So Boys Noize is the German-born electro-prodigy, Alex Ridha, and he hates new rave. And no, I’m not going to do that thing that everyone else who’s ever written about him does, and mention the fact that despite what the name might imply, Boys Noize is NOT a duo. Oh wait. Damn! No wonder he regrets choosing it. Anyway, the singular entity that is Boys Noize is all set to release his debut album, Oi Oi Oi, in the US on 25th September (check his Myspace page for other release dates) and it’s going to be huge. I’ve posted the first track on the album, & Down, just in case you haven’t already heard it, plus the gorgeous/trashy Feist remix he did a while ago, which will feature as a bonus track on the album. And just for the hell of it there’s also the remix of & Down that Teenage Bad Girl did for him in return for his efforts with their phenomenal track, Cocotte.

The other big Boys Noize news is that the preliminary line-up for the Harbourlife Festival has just been announced, so it looks like Ridha will be coming to Sydney on the 24th November for that. Although the rest of the acts had better improve on later line-up announcements, because as it stands, I’d effectively be paying $100 just to see Boys Noize. Tim Deluxe? Ugh.

P.S. I wonder if anyone actually understands his, ‘punching into a fried egg,’ catchphrase. Because I don’t.

Agreed! But for some reason I still get a lame vibe coming from the whole thing. Maybe if it wasn’t so overpriced…
