Well I knew this day would eventually come. Doesn’t make it any less devastating though. I finally ran out of room on my iPod. And I still have ten or so albums I haven’t even uploaded yet. Ugh. This means that every track that is currently on there must now EARN that newly-hallowed position of privilege. So goodbye Postal Service, goodbye Avalanches, (yes, yes, I know they’re historic. Shut up.) and goodbye Avril (ha, look she made a joke).
It was when I was carefully scrutinising the contents of my iPod that I noticed I have a disproportionately large amount of Bloc Party tracks. Don’t get me wrong, I love them heaps and respect them even more, but christ, those tracks take up a lot of memory. Turns out I have a whole lot of seemingly rare (according to our good friend, HypeMachine) B-sides that I’d forgotten I even had, so I thought I’d better share some with you, which, hopefully, will a) make me look like an all-round awesome human being, and b) make them functional enough to earn their place on my iPod. I’m nothing if I’m not pragmatic don’t you know.
So now I’m going to go make ridiculous amounts of cocktails in the blender I got from my parents for Christmas which, hopefully, will a) help me to forget the fact that I wasn’t smart enough to ask my parents for a 160 gig iPod instead, and b) numb the pain caused by my appallingly inadequate 30 gig iPod. I love the holidays.

Awesome. Did you see Kele is flying all the way out to Australia for a DJ tour? Will be interesting to see the kind of stuff he plays. Hopefully good stuff.

oh god, kele’s doing it again? last one was a bit of an aberration, so i wouldn’t have particularly high expectations. lots of 80s classix, easy crowd pleasers and shit-all mixing abilities if my memory serves me correctly. i was reasonably drunk though. and i saw the klaxons do a dj set at fabric in december 06 which was… deliberately esoteric. perhaps fame has chilled them out a little bit, but i really struggled to get into it at the time.
man, how much am i just dumping on the indie dj love-in?
