I’m hyped. I hope the rest of you are too about the second line-up announcement that is as follows:
Silverchair, Spoon, Augie March, Brand New, Regurgitator, Anti-Flag, Karnivool, Carl Cox, Pnau, Kate Nash, Josh Pyke, beXta, Shy Child, Gyroscope, Enter Shikari, Operator Please, Unkle (live), Goodwill, Krafty Kuts & MC Dynamite, Die! Die! Die!, The Nightwatchman (Tom Morello acoustic), Blue King Brown, Dr Octagon with Kutmaster Kurt, British India, Aceyalone, Krill.
And in preparation for the impending madness that will be BDO 2008, I’ve compiled a brief set of rules that if everyone adheres to, there will be less festival angst floating around. Maybe.
Rule 1. Boys, please wait until at least two or three hours into the festival before insisting upon walking around shirtless. Overzealous stripping is never a good thing.
Rule 2. Girls, refer to Rule 1. I don’t want to have to see you at the entrance wearing nothing but a bikini top and shorts. Try and wait till you’re at least through the gates before deciding that you’re too hot for clothes (I mean this literally and figuratively).
Rule 3. If you find yourself waterless in the middle of a 100 people X 100 people² crowd, don’t ask the stranger standing next to you if you can share his. Hepatitis is so 1994.
Rule 4. If you must wear fluro, please exercise discretion. Head-to-toe fluro is never a good thing.
Rule 5. Don’t make the mistake of assuming Red Bull (with or without alcohol) is an ok substitute for water. It’s not. Unless you enjoy having the shakes.
Rule 6. Ignore Rule 5 if you plan to kick on till 6am.
Well that should do it for now. I’ll see you in the queue in the Red Bull tent while Karnivool are playing. We can compare band shirts or something. It will be rad.

[...] I know I’m a bit slow off the mark, but I’ve just had a look at the Big Day Out set times and quite frankly, I’m devastated. As I made my way through the timetable it all seemed [...]
