A Brisbane-based electronic artist making a few ripples down south. He’s approached the new single Chalk Outlines with a dense, almost orchestral, brush that (for me) is jarringly offset by his dry, laconic voice. See what you think, ’cause while I really enjoy this in theory, there’s some anchor that keeps me floating off to oblivion, despite a stadium shattering piano drop during the bridge.

A brand spanker by two sisters from Bondi, now living in Sweden. This is pretty lush. As a general rule of thumb, the creative output of Bondi sucks, but this graceful debut really tickles my feminine-pop fetish.

One would suspect plentiful and unnecessary hand-percussion here if the twins hadn’t migrated.

Have got good!
I checked back in on this Melbourne outfit’s Soundcloud and came across two new tracks from a self-titled double A-side released this month. Effortless and gloomy vocal takes, subtle drumming, brooding and uplifting in equal measure – it’s like their (slightly boring) back-catalogue executed with ten times more confidence and clarity.
