Aeroplane Australian Tour

I wish my life were as organised as an airline meal.

Belgium disco mavens Aeroplane are heading to Australia in August for a rash of dates including Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide – sorry but no Perth dates.

I first got on the Aeroplane bandwagon (and it is fast becoming a bandwagon) last year when I picked up their remix of fellow Belgium duo Das Pop’s “Fool For Love” from Phase02.org. But I have to admit that I didn’t pay them a great deal of attention until I copped an early release of their May single “Whispers” with Kathy Diamond and fell in love.

I think I know better now. If it’s on Eskimo Records it is almost assured of being a great, well produced track or release. With label mates include the likes of Mylo, Joakim, Mike Simonetti and Lindstrom it’s hard to go wrong.

And most recently of course we’ve got their remix of Cut Copy’s “Hearts On Fire” which for me has been a creeper. While it’s not my personal favourite of the bunch, it’s charming nonetheless.

Anyway here are the dates and hope to see you at the Melbourne show. Good news for Luke because he will be living in Melbourne by then and Bec can catch them in Sydney I guess. Wooo!

15 Aug 2008 Brisbane
16 Aug 2008 Sydney @ Civic Underground
22 Aug 2008 Melbourne @ La Di Da w/ Chestwig, Jean Pierre and Andee Frost
23 Aug 2008 Adelaide @ Sugar

Everything they touch turns to gold. The cut copy remix is probably my least favourite of everything they have done.
Can’t wait. See you at La Di Da. Never been there before. Any thoughts on the venue?

yeah I agree the hearts on fire mix isn’t there most elevated moment. Their remix of mgmt ‘electric feel’ is defintalely way above the clouds! venue is good, its in the downstairs room, basement with good proper dancefloor and nice system.
