After hearing an assortment of some pretty awful dance music lately, the opportunity to revisit LA’s lean, skeletal noise rock outfit, HEALTH, was such a pleasure. Their material is like an aural palate-cleanser. Having previously produced two remixes of the frenzied “Triceratops,” Grindin’s own Acid Girls have now gathered a handful of remixes taken from last year’s HEALTH//DISCO album and fused them together with some unreleased edits to create this thirty-minute mix. If the remix album isn’t cohesive enough for you, and the self-titled makes you nervous with its unpredictable eruptions of clamorous percussion, primeval screeches and bouts of tense silence, this mix will be just perfect.
