A Place To Bury Strangers - Tour and Release

So if any of you know who Sotto Voce, the invincible and inaudible Spanish vigilante, is, I love you, and you should totally come to my place for wine and cheese and I’ll tell you that I should very much like to have his horse and you can tell me that you wouldn’t mind trying on his cape and/or mask, and we’ll laugh about it and then you’ll pour me another wine and I’ll say, “no thanks, I don’t drink red, and who contaminated the knife with the blue cheese?” and then find out it was you because you were the only one there, and I’ll tell you to leave and to take your blue cheese with you, you idiot. And I’m keeping the wine. Having said that, with an inexplicable and three-week-old blocked ear, which causes me to keep speaking too softly for fear of speaking too loudly, I’ve unwittingly become Sotto Voce (although a slightly less Spanish version perhaps, and still without a horse). If you follow. (This has a point.)

Fortunately there are bands who can cater to the temporarily semi-deaf, such as A Place to Bury Strangers, the band affectionately known as, “the loudest in New York.” Not a bad title really. If you’re unfamilar with their sound, imagine a slightly more cohesive HEALTH, but with just as much noise and enough psychedelia to make The (Lost) Valentinos proud. And while we’re at it they should totally marry Californian noise-rockers, Clipd Beaks, because they’re so perfect for each other. A Place to Bury Strangers’ record label, Meal Deal Records, have announced a May UK tour, starting off on the 7th at Barfly with Late of the Pier. Pretty irrelevant news to people who aren’t British, but don’t fret, because they’re also releasing their fantastic and blogged-to-death single - To Fix the Gash in Your Head - on 10″ limited edition vinyl some time next month. The release includes fellow Meal Deal signee, Lillica Libertine’s title track remix, plus the B-side, Ocean, and a Clapp remix. Check the APTBS Myspace page for more downloads.

This is a good remix. APTBS is the most interesting band around right now. It is good to see people taking an interest in their music. The Clapp seems to be worth looking into as well.
