Yeah i know it’s un-hip and even more un-hop, but, booiieeee, i love prog. Not that old prog, which mainly consisted of Sasha furiously masturbating a repetitive bassline towards a monumentally predictable climax..i’m talking about new prog. Prog which make you smile from ear to ear and reminds you of beach parties, holidaying on a beach, drinking on a beach and standing on a beach. The sort of prog which isn’t really prog at all, it’s just trance that’s been slowed down. Ahhh prog. Your tasty slices of melody and phased drum lines never cease to entertain my ear canal(s).
**EDIT: Stop hassling me about Sasha. I know he’s got a great body of work and, yes, Involver 2 is a great mix, but remember the FIRST time progressive house was being bandied around? I’m talking Y2K people. Boooring.
Introducing a friendly young chap named Thomas Schwartz. He’s been kicking around for a while, mainly in a production role for other acts, but more recently he’s been stepping out with some serious pretty melodies.
Thomas Schwartz – Twilight onMarz
This is a very pretty song, and could cause some dance floor damage if used judiciously.. Grab it from BEATPORT for all your DJ’ing needs, and while you’re there check out the rest of his back catalogue, including his new Jupiter Calling track.
Bonus:
pardon the typos

Love the phrase “Sasha furiously masturbating a repetitive bassline towards a monumentally predictable climax”
Just jump on the anjunadeep bandwagon – we always smilin
Not to rain on your bassline masturbation call, but have you actually listened to Sasha’s Invol2ver? One of the best mix albums released last year in my book, and chock full of the very same goodness you’re gushing about with Schwartz and Deadmau5.
Hey nic – i updated the post for you. Involver 2 is tidy. And at no stage am i gushing about Deadmau5. that track is strictly a bonus. I in no way condone it
Awww yes…I remember that around Y2K. The rave scene was getting real good in Vancouver, then the boring prog house and trance being played just basically killed it.
totally agree with ya comment about Sasha…..and that Thomas Schwartz song is FUCKEN GOLD!!!!!!
